Age UK Northamptonshire

About Age UK Northamptonshire

Age UK Northamptonshire is a local independent cause providing services and support for older people in the local area. Everything they do enables older people across the county to love later life. They believe later years should be fulfilling years, whether you are going through tough times or want to socialise and make new friends, they are here to help.

They provide a wide range of paid-for and funded services to a growing number of older people, improving their quality of life, promoting independence, and preventing frailty, poverty and loneliness, such as:

Day Care at Home: A friendly face to visit you safely in your home, who will stay for a chat, providing company and support.

Extra Help at the End of Life: They provide care to people in the last weeks of their life, which enables them to remain at home with their loved ones.

Gardening Service: There are gardeners in most areas of Northamptonshire who can help you look after your garden, who aim to provide general maintenance, and doing the work in the garden that suits you.

Handyperson Service: The Handyperson Service helps older people to remain independent by assisting with a range of minor house repairs.

Home Care Cleaning Service: This service helps older people in Northamptonshire keep their home clean and safe, taking away the worry of domestic tasks.

From your very first game, you be will helping Age UK Northamptonshire to raise vital funds that will go back into the community, to support older people. Some examples of what your contribution could pay for:

  • £25 can provide the day centre clients with fun, stimulating activities having a positive effect on their wellbeing.
  • £50 helps them provide free information and advice to older people who have no one else to turn to for help.
  • £75 buys a pair of Nordic walking poles to enable vulnerable, isolated older people to join a walking group.
  • £100 could enable them to service much-needed mobility equipment, making sure it is safe for clients to use.

You don’t need to check the results every week, although you can if you want to. If you win, we will contact you to let you know. If we have your email, your prize winnings will automatically go into your make a smile account; where you can then request a withdrawal, after which monies are then transferred into your bank account, or if you don’t have an email with us, a letter and cheque will be sent via post (please make sure that we have your up to date address).
