Do you have a cat?
Would you ever abandon them outside a vet?
This was the case for Milly and her young kitten. The pair were discarded and left to fend for themselves outside a veterinary practice in the East Norfolk area. They were quickly checked and referred to the RSPCA East Norfolk Branch so they could be rehabilitated and find a new home.
Once Milly’s young kitten was old enough, he was adopted very quickly. As is often the case with cute little kittens.
However, this was not as easy for Milly. Due to the fact she had poor socialisation, she was terrified of everything. This made finding her a suitable home very difficult. Milly being only one year old, the RSPCA East Norfolk Branch thought it was very unlikely she would need any medical treatment prior to being rehomed. However, they soon discovered she had a heart condition which meant she would require daily medication. This was very unusual for a cat of her age.
These factors combined made it much more challenging to find her a suitable home. But it was imperative for the RSPCA East Norfolk Branch to find Milly the perfect home so that she would feel safe.
After 156 days in their care, the branch finally found the perfect home for Milly. Somewhere she would have her specific needs met. A place where she would be cared for, safe and secure.
She is now doing amazing and is very loved, her new owners have said "She has become so much more confident, inquisitive and chatty. Milly has definitely found her voice and is very playful. We are forever grateful for all the support and love you gave Milly during her time with you."
The RSPCA East Norfolk branch is an independent branch of the RSPCA, covering the area of Gt. Yarmouth and Gorleston to the south and stretches almost as far as Cromer in the north. The aim of the branch is to ensure that all animals brought to it because of neglect, ill-treatment or because they are no longer wanted, they are given the best possible care before being re-homed.
They work tirelessly to help lots of animals just like Milly to find a loving home, where they can be cared for and loved. To find out more about their incredible work click here.
