Emergency Services Day 2023

In times of crisis and chaos, there are individuals who stand unwaveringly at the forefront, ready to serve and protect. These are the brave men and women who make up the emergency services in the UK. Every year on September 9th, the United Kingdom pays tribute to these unsung heroes on Emergency Services Day, a day dedicated to recognising their invaluable contributions and sacrifices. This day serves as a reminder of the crucial role these services play in ensuring the safety and well-being of the nation's citizens.   

Always there for those who need it 

From national landmarks in the capital city, to suburban housing estates, our partner; London Ambulance Charity is there for one of the busiest ambulance services in the UK- the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust.   

We are celebrating the amazing work our partner does to ensure that the London Ambulance service can work efficiently, proactively and in the best way possible to provide care to over 9 million people who live in, work in and visit London daily. Those staff members on the road, 24/7/365 are there for any one at any time of day!   

Why it is so important to care  

London Ambulance Charity raise vital funds to improve patient care through advancements and improved staff wellbeing which are beyond what’s capable solely with statutory government funding.  

• By funding medical technology, equipment, and training, the charity ensures paramedics are equipped to handle emergencies with skill and compassion.  
• Beyond response, they engage the community through first aid workshops and campaigns to enhance public awareness.  
• Through diverse fundraising initiatives such as playing make a smile lottery, the charity channels resources into essential areas, from technology upgrades to medical research. 
• They also ensure that staff and volunteer wellbeing is taken seriously and initiatives are in place to look after their staff out on the road all day.
